Line Type and Line Config


Line config is a group of work centres, typically planned together, to execute a sequence of work. Line type is the parent group of line configs. You need to create a line type before you can create a line config. 

Line config is a high-level subdivision of the system. For example, to distinguish between two factories, or different product lines or fundamentally different processes in the system. 

Add/edit a line type

  1. Navigate to the Line Config page.
  2. Click the Manage Line Types button to display the Line Types popup.
  3. Click the New button, provide a name for the line type, and click save.

  1. Navigate to the Line Config screen.
  2. Click the New button to display the Add Line Config input screen.
  3. Complete the Add Line Config input screen.

The following properties can be defined for Add/Edit Line Config:  

Blue fields in the form are required and are flagged with an asterisk (*) in this document.   

  • Line Type*: Select a line type.
  • SUID
  • Name*: Name of the line config. 
  • Description: Description of the line config.
  • Job Sort Mode*: Influences the default sort order for jobs on the workstation.
