Embedded PowerBI
In version 6.20, we have extended our rich set of out-of-the-box analytics by embedding Power BI. As well as bringing a wealth of new data visualisations and analysis tools this also enables customers to self-serve reporting extensions, customisations and dashboards without having to purchase and manage a separate BI tool.
The first dashboards to make use of the new technology are the pivot analysis screens. These now support guided “drill down” analysis and allow users to create customer-specific copies of system dashboards with alternative default filters and visualisations.
Good to have some screen shots of drill-downs and alternative visualisations.....
Outbound IIoT MQTT Support
Version 6.0.0 introduced support for IIoT communication via MQTT. This facilitates recording of process parameter, asset status and production count data from on-premise equipment and sensors.
At 6.2.0 MQTT communication has been extended to include 2-way exchange with on-premise equipment. MQTT communication can be triggered on events within a production workflow or via background tasks. Use cases include send program data to smart tools when a measurement operation is started (and storing the results on completion), or triggering andon alerts when a non-conformance is logged or detected.
Faster Location Imports
Assigning multiple products to a location is now easier and faster than ever before.
Improved Access To Support System
Access to the MESTEC Halo support system is now available from the user menu within the MESTEC application. This gives the user quick access to MESTEC training material, support ticket management and more.
Partial Builds
MESTEC supports the recording of material issue and the track and trace of build information through multiple levels of BoM. This is used both for inventory tracking and forward/backward traceability information required in regulated environments such as food and aerospace and defence sectors. This includes validation that the correct quantities are consumed and recorded.
This validation and traceability is simple in serialised environments or when the batch size is fixed, however it can be much more complex when a batch is partially completed. Examples of when this can occur:
A job is partially kitted due to a shortage of material
A batch is split
Material is issued to a batch in several operations
V6.2.0 supports a variety of new configuration settings to enforce compliance across these and many other scenarios.
“Partial completion modes” control how child material already issued to batch gets allocated if a batch get split and “Build quantity modes” control what material is required when material issue for a batches is completed over several iterations.
New Workstation Button for Managing BoM
At 6.2.0 the workstation now has a BoM button – this allows the operator to select a job and short cut to the item status BoM manager screen, to quickly assess the status of the build (including available drill down to all level of the BoM hierarchy).
Enhancements to Transfer/Dispatch Orders
6.2.0 contains various enhancements to the new transfer order functionality introduced in v6.1.0. These include:
Improved UI when adding new dispatch order line items to restrict the list of products to only those that are valid to be shipped to the selected destination organisation.
Ability to cancel a dispatch order.
New In Transit status for material that has been dispatched to another site and is pending receipt.
Ability to record vehicle reg and delivery number for dispatches.
Event Manager – Event Run History
It is now possible via the Event Management screen to see the logs of historical event executions within MESTEC.
Enhanced Skills Management
Before 6.2.0 it was possible to set skills requirements against operations – this prevented operators without the specified skills from booking onto the operation.
At 6.2.0 you can now more accurately specify where the skills requirement controls lie:
Required for any activity i.e. required to book onto the operation
Required to complete the operation
